CARE THAT LASTS
SIMPLE PRACTICES, BERLINER BAGS FOR A LIFETIME
With the right care, your leather bags will accompany you for many years, growing more beautiful with time. Leather is a natural material that develops its own character, and when properly maintained, it retains its strength, softness, and unique personality.
Each type of leather has distinct qualities, and caring for them accordingly helps preserve their natural beauty. A gentle cleaning routine and the right care, tailored to the specific type of leather, will allow your bag to age gracefully, becoming a piece full of stories. By following these guidelines, your bag won’t just last — it will get better with every use.

LEATHER TYPE GUIDE
EACH BAG HAS UNIQUE NEEDS—FIND THE BEST WAY TO PROTECT YOURS

VINTAGE
Use a soft, lint-free cloth to apply a beeswax-based balm or water-repellent spray every few months. Once a year, clean your bag with a leather conditioner or cleaning kit to remove dirt and restore moisture. Suitable care products are widely available online and in most supermarkets. Since most Berliner bags are made of smooth leather, be sure to choose products formulated for this type of leather. It is normal for leather to have a natural scent, but if the scent is too strong, air out the bag in a well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight for a few days. Alternatively, place a scented pouch inside the bag and replace it every few days until the smell fades.

PREMIUM
To preserve the natural beauty of the leather and maintain its excellent condition, it requires simple yet attentive care. Clean regularly with a soft, damp cloth to gently remove dirt and dust. Periodically apply a high-quality leather conditioner to keep the material supple and moisturized. When not in use, store your leather goods in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and humidity, to prevent damage. Avoid exposing your leather goods to harsh chemicals, as this can harm the surface and shorten the leather’s lifespan.

BUFFALO
Avoid using greasy products or heavy creams on the leather, as these can clog its pores. Use cleaners specifically formulated for buffalo leather to treat tough stains. If a spill occurs, gently blot with a dry cloth or blotting paper; never rub. For persistent marks, carefully use a leather sanding pad or suede eraser.

GOAT HUNTER
Regularly remove surface dust with a soft brush or cloth. Gently dab any stains with a damp cloth—never rub or saturate the leather. Condition the leather sparingly, about two to four times per year, using a high-quality product designed for goatskin leather. Always spot-test first. If the bag gets wet, blot it with a clean cloth and let it air dry. Finally, store your bag in a cool, dry place inside a breathable dust bag to maintain its integrity and allow it to develop a rich patina over time.

SUEDE
Brush your suede regularly with a soft suede brush to lift the nap and remove dust. Always brush gently in one direction to maintain its softness. Allow watermarks to dry naturally — never use heat. To treat oily spots, apply cornstarch or talcum powder to absorb the oil. Then, brush it off. Use a suede eraser carefully to remove stubborn stains. When storing your suede bag, place it in a breathable dust bag away from sunlight and moisture. Stuff the bag with tissue paper to help it keep its shape. Always use products specifically designed for suede to prevent damage.

SAFFIANO
Thanks to its wax-coated finish, Saffiano leather requires minimal effort to maintain. To keep your bag looking its best, regularly wipe it with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and dirt. If the bag gets wet, gently pat it dry with a clean, soft cloth — never rub. Every two to three months, use a slightly damp cloth for a deeper clean, but avoid harsh chemicals that could damage the finish.
Protect your bag with waterproof spray.
Rain spots may appear but fade quickly, no need to worry.
Avoid drying your bag with direct heat,
it can distort the leather’s shape and texture.
Before using any leather care products,
always start with a small amount and apply it to inconspicuous areas.
